Martin Avenue Safety Update
May 4, 2026
Dear Martin Avenue Community,
I want to share a brief update regarding recent traffic and pedestrian safety improvements around Martin Avenue. With many thanks to the Town of Hempstead, additional signage has been installed and more prominently displayed around school property, including newly installed school speed zone signs, “No U-Turn” and “No Parking” signs, along with stop signs equipped with reflective strips to improve visibility. These updates are designed to strengthen traffic safety and better protect our students, families, and staff during arrival and dismissal times.
We are grateful to the Town of Hempstead for their partnership and support in prioritizing the safety of our school community. Thank you, as always, for your cooperation and for continuing to follow all traffic guidelines. Your efforts make a meaningful difference each day.
Finally, as we continue to emphasize safety to and from school, we ask families to reinforce safe biking practices with students. This includes wearing helmets, following all traffic laws, using sidewalks where available, and not cutting through school parking lots or driving areas. These expectations align with our core values, including respect, responsibility, and caring for one another, and reflect our shared commitment to the safety and well-being of every member of our school community.
We appreciate your continued efforts to keep our school community safe each day.
Michael J. Yannucci, Ed.D.
Proud Principal
